Jamsday 10/20 (Delayed) “Better Man” by Leon Bridges
https://soundcloud.com/leonbridges/better-man
Happy day after Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. If you’re a Florida State fan, I see no plausible explanation of how you aren’t still feeling as bad as I am today. I still have no voice, so my main man, Leon Bridges, will just have to sing it for me. I feel like a sophomore girl who just got asked to prom by the quarterback; that’s how excited I am that Leon Bridges is making new era, soulful, 50’s doo-wop tunage. GORILLA VS. BEAR made comparisons to a young Sam Cooke and I couldn’t agree more. This is silky smooth and whether it’s dancing with a friend in your kitchen, or drinking a cold one down by the lake, it just feels right. Have a great rest of your day after Jamsday and enjoy “Better Man” by Leon Bridges.
Cheers,

Jamsday 10/13 “Dorothy” by Mail the Horse

Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our Noles continue to 6 - 0 and I don’t think I’ve been this excited since Schoolboi week. The return to Tallahassee this weekend can’t come soon enough and the Party Brigade will be in full force. You Jabronis better be ready… As I head back down South, I’ll stick to my roots with today’s tunage. Mail the Horse is a Brooklyn based band and will be releasing their 3rd album before the end of the year. They have released the song featured here, along with another single, “Yer So Gone (Stay For a Smoke)”, and if these are any indication of what we’re in store for, I’m sold. Blending soulful, bluesy arrangements to eerie harmonies and sexy, dark lyrics. Their past work was a little more crunchy, country jams, and not to say that they’ve steered away from that sound, but it sounds like they’ve evolved and I love what they’re pouring out. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Dorothy” by Mail the Horse.

Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. The Noles are 5 - 0 and it looks like a top 5, bruising match-up with the Irish… Can’t wait to storm the streets of Tallahassee with no regard for human life. Side note before the Jamsday tunage; Saw the great Sinkane last night, and if he’s coming to a town near you, take my advice and see him. You won’t regret it. Today’s dark & stormy sounding melody comes from a couple out of Orlando, FL. Usually an odd town for an indie pop band, but having lived in Orlando for a year, the music scene is very diverse, and wouldn’t be surprised if we start to see more talent come out of the Sunshine State. Lauren Morgan’s voice is melancholy with a hint of deep reflection, and a subtle, yet grungy guitar riff sets an eerie mood. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Renee” by Sales.

Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I don’t know how many more fake heart attacks the Noles can give me before I actually have a real one, but we’re 4 - 0. I’m alright with that. It was a great weekend for live shows in Brooklyn, as I rallied to see eight bands in three days. Including two of my favorites, Fletcher C. Johnson and Twin Peaks, and a great new band, Las Rosas. Would suggest checking them all out if you’re looking for some fresh new tunage. But, today’s jamtastic song is from another favorite band of mine, Generationals. Hailing from The Big Easy, these guys have been around for a while, releasing their fourth album, Alix, just a couple weeks ago. But, what you should realize is they brought in the Indie God, Richard Swift, to produce, and again, everything he touches fucking rules. Their knee slapping, summery vibes are just what you need to get you through your day. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Would You Want Me” by Generationals.

Happy Friday, friends. The best day of the week is here and ready to party. Quick note on what happened last night; Wow, Derek Jeter. One of the best to ever play the game, and to go out like that (at Yankee Stadium, will still play against Boston this weekend) was truly magical. Hats off. But, enough of something you will undoubtedly be hearing for the next two weeks on (TM)EZPN. This song was released yesterday, and I actually featured this artist just a couple weeks back for Jamsday. If this doesn’t get you in the mood to shake what your momma gave you, then you really are a horrible person, and have no taste in what is good. Just kidding, but seriously. It’s so groovy I have to try and turn down my Funk down at my desk. Slightly sounds like “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” there at the end? Maybe it’s just me, but I’ll make my hips swing to it, regardless. Have a great rest of your Friday and enjoy “Worst Behavior (SAINT PEPSI Edit) by Drake.
Cheers

Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our Noles are 3 - 0. Wow, what a game. My heart attack count is up to 57, 4 of which happened Saturday night. I read this article Friday morning and have listened to this song almost as many times as I have had heart attacks, in just a 3 day span. This song is indeed a ‘Mood Changer’. If you’re groggy like the 99% of cool, hip Americans this morning, then you need this song in your life. A Bushwick based band that, by the sound of it, will have a heavy following soon to come. They’re hitting the road this fall, opening up for Delta Spirit at some spots, and releasing their album on October 7th. Be warned, it will be stuck in your head all day and you’ll want to go buy a Cowboy hat. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Laredo” by Streets Of Laredo.

Jamsday 9/15 “Love Is Weight” by The Lawsuits
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyvCk3hLpcU
Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. My highlight? Was able to score a big ol’ juicy ManBearPig hug from Seth Rogen Saturday night. Chill dude, with even chiller facial hair. Rock on, Seth. This mundane morning needs some tunage and I got one from a new band out of Philadelphia. The Lawsuits released an album back in October of last year, but just released a new single, featured on Village Voice, and are releasing their second album, ‘Tumbled’, next week. The soulfulness is strong and this song just exudes cool. Another foot tapper and one you can’t just listen to once. This should help with that two-day hangover and the fact that you’re not getting promoted at work today. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Love Is Weight” by The Lawsuits.

Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend, the Noles are 2 - 0. Football is in full swing, fall is in the air and the beer is still cold. I can’t wait to be back in the Holy Land for the Notre Dame game, looks like we will have a formidable opponent on our hands. Nothing better to get into the Autumn spirit than some groovy tunage. A Boston College alum, and an artist who doesn’t look to be more than 14 years old, Saint Pepsi brings some roller disco Pop with his new song “Fiona Coyne”. There has been some high praise for this young band, and I can see why. A raucous brass section, laid with dreamy vocals and catchy electronica, this is bound to get your feet singing. It’s not always easy to say goodbye to Summer, but this should help keep the Sun shining for just a little bit longer. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Fiona Coyne” by Saint Pepsi.

Jamsday 9/1 “Work” by Hockey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaizwmc9u6I
Happy Jamsday, friends. A happy Labor Day as well. Enjoy accordingly; Drink beer, eat BBQ or binge watch The Office while eating pizza for the third straight day… It’s all deadly. Three day weekends are great, even more great when college football kicks off and the Noles are 1 - 0. I’m not going to talk about work because we all just have to go back tomorrow, so I will let this rad band out of Portland do it for me. I saw these guys with a small group in Orlando a couple years ago, and their sound couldn’t be more infectious. Drawing an immediate comparison to Talking Heads, I knew they had something special. This song comes off of their first album, but their second album was awesome and I know they won’t be stopping there. Have a great rest or your Jamsabor Day and enjoy “Work” by Hockey.

Happy Jamsday, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. For all that attended our Bushwick rooftop/Love Lounge party, thank you. It was quite the soiree, and we hope to have many more. This is my first post for this up and coming Brooklyn band, and the drummer just happens to be my roommate. After some re-branding and changing their name to Dreamers (formerly Motive), the guys have dawned some groovy attire and managed to keep their crunchy garage tunes. This was their first single released off the new album, set to drop 11/18. You can listen to both songs on their Soundcloud page, and below is an article Stereogum wrote for “My Little Match”, which was released this morning. I got to see their first gig as Dreamers and Nick’s voice croons as catchy as it sounds, and Chris’ on point backing vocals mesh perfect with the sultry bass line and heart pounding drum beat. Get ready to experience the Dreamers Universe. Have a great rest of your Jamsday and enjoy “Wolves” by Dreamers.
